About the Monterrey, Nuevo Leon facility
Monterrey is northern Mexico's largest industrial centre, with a strong automotive supplier base and a wave of EV and battery investment in Nuevo León as manufacturers move production closer to the US market. The logistics yard opened in Parque Industrial Apodaca in 2023 to collect the scrap, rejects and retired packs that this nearshoring activity is starting to generate. Its catchment covers Nuevo León and neighbouring northern states.
Its 15,000 TPA of throughput covers collection, de-energising and consolidation. Loads are sorted for onward processing, including movement across the border to US sites where the required authorisations are in place, and paperwork is prepared to satisfy both Mexican and US requirements. Packs are de-energised and sorted by chemistry on arrival, and every unit leaves with a custody record that travels with it to the processing site.
