About the Sanand, Gujarat facility

Sanand, west of Ahmedabad, grew into a major automotive hub after vehicle makers established plants in its GIDC estates, and Gujarat has since drawn large investments in cell and battery manufacturing. The reverse logistics yard opened in Sanand GIDC Phase II in 2022 to consolidate retired, rejected and damaged packs from this fast-growing corridor before they travel to processing sites elsewhere in India.

As a logistics yard with 21,000 TPA of throughput, it does not grade or process material. It collects, de-energises, sorts and dispatches. Consignments leave sorted by chemistry and destination, usually bound for a grading centre or an integrated campus, and every unit carries a chain-of-custody record that the downstream recycler uses when generating EPR evidence for the producer. Custody records are completed before any truck leaves the gate.
