About the Changsari, Assam facility

Changsari, near Guwahati, is the network's only site in north-east India. The region's distance from major processing centres and its difficult terrain make formal battery collection expensive, so the yard opened in an AIIDC growth centre in 2024 to create a local consolidation point where batteries can be stored safely until a full, economical load is ready. Aggregators across the region are its main partners.

At 5,000 TPA it is the smallest yard in the network. It gathers two-wheeler, three-wheeler and small fleet batteries from Assam and neighbouring states, de-energises them and sends them onward in larger loads. Humidity and heavy rainfall shape how the site operates, from covered loading to moisture checks at intake. Custody records follow every unit onward. Damaged units are held in isolated storage.
